Applications to Study Astronomy

Applications for Oct 2008 now open.

Normal applications for the courses starting in October courses will be accepted from Easter until 15th September.

You will normally receive an email response to your application within 3 weeks of applying.

Late applications received before 30th September will be processed on a best-efforts basis.

Applications received after 30th September will be held over until next academic year.

If you have any difficulty submitting an on-line application, please contact the Department at the address at the bottom of the page.

On-line applications

Our courses next run from October 2008.

In any academic year, you may apply to study more than one course; each course requires a separate application.

If you are applying to study a programme that contains more than one module, please indicate which module(s) you wish to study in the 'further information' box.

The general University on-line application system asks for an academic reference. It is not necessary to submit an academic reference for any of the Study Astronomy distance learning courses.

Students already enrolled on the
  • the Cert HE
  • an Advanced Certificate
  • the DipHE or
  • the BSc

are not required to make a new application to continue their studies. Towards the end of the academic year, you will be contacted  with progression details and your module options for next year. You will receive a reminder shortly after University Results Day.
